Our client, a fast-growing defense technology company, is looking for a Software Engineer, Robotics & Integration. They are building advanced autonomous systems and integrating complex hardware, software, sensors, and robotic platforms into reliable, real-world capabilities.
This is a highly hands-on role with significant ownership across the full integration stack.
Location: NY/NJ
Compensation: Up to $220,000 base salary
Role & Responsibilities:
Integrate robotic platforms, sensors, payloads, and third-party technologies
Write production code across backend, embedded, and integration systems
Work with flight controllers, device communication, APIs, and networking
Debug issues across software, hardware, devices, and operator workflows
Test systems in simulation, lab, and real-world environments
Own complex integrations from initial connection through deployment
Skills & Experience:
3+ years of software development experience
Strong skills in Java, C++, Python, or similar languages
Experience with Linux, networking, APIs, devices, or distributed systems
Familiarity with real-time systems, control loops, or embedded platforms
Comfortable working closely with hardware and complex systems
Robotics, autonomous systems, drones, or defense experience is a strong plus
