About The Role

Boeing is seeking an experienced or senior Application Software Engineer to join our Phantom Works Weapons team located in St. Charles, Missouri, within the St. Louis area. This role supports vital future weapons programs, including the Next Generation Cruise Missile initiative. It offers an exceptional opportunity to work on high-impact projects that require interdisciplinary collaboration, systems thinking, and technical innovation. The successful candidate will be involved in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining embedded software throughout its lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry, safety, and regulatory standards. The role demands a proactive approach to translating customer requirements into robust software solutions, supporting system integration, and fostering continuous process improvements. This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret and Special Program Access, reflecting the sensitive nature of the projects involved.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, data science, physics, chemistry, mathematics, or related fields, along with substantial experience in software development. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in C++, Python, and C#, with proficiency in Linux development environments, version control systems such as Git, and open architectures. Experience with network architectures, especially TCP/UDP-based communication, is essential. Preferred qualifications include 5 or more years of related work experience for experienced level candidates or 9+ years for senior roles, along with an active Top Secret/SCI clearance. Knowledge of software architecture, design methodologies, and development processes aligned with industry standards is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with software testing tools, debugging, troubleshooting, and domain-specific constraints related to defense systems. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and a passion for learning emerging technologies are important attributes for success in this role.

Responsibilities
