About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer / Developer (Experienced or Senior) to join our Phantom Works Open Architecture Systems Integrated Software (OASIS) Solutions team based in Berkeley, MO (St. Louis, MO area). This role is integral to supporting Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering initiatives, focusing on developing sophisticated software solutions for space-based effects in support of air domain missions. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, candidates must hold an active U.S. Secret security clearance, with recent activity within the past 24 months considered valid. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative software solutions that address complex challenges, leveraging their expertise in software design, development, and integration.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physics, or related fields, along with extensive experience in software engineering. Candidates must have an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance and be U.S. citizens. A minimum of five years of experience in software development, particularly with C++, is required, along with at least one year of MATLAB experience. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and experience working across Linux and Windows platforms are essential. Preferred qualifications include advanced degrees, additional years of relevant experience, and familiarity with physics-based modeling software, DevSecOps practices, and real-time software development. Candidates with experience in Java, MATLAB Coder, or related tools will have an added advantage.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain non-embedded software throughout the entire lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
Translate customer needs and requirements into initial software designs, ensuring clarity and feasibility.
Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Develop interface definitions and documentation to facilitate seamless integration of software components.
Perform comprehensive unit and integration testing to verify functionality and reliability.
Participate in peer reviews, code analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software quality.
Support software system integration, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
Create detailed software documentation to support maintenance, upgrades, and knowledge sharing.
Interface with various programming languages and development tools to ensure cohesive software solutions.
