About The Role

The Boeing Precision Engagement Systems organization in St. Charles, MO, located in the St. Louis metro area, is seeking talented and motivated Real-Time Software Engineers at both associate and experienced levels. This role involves developing, integrating, testing, and delivering complex software solutions vital to the operation of precision-guided weapons used by the United States and allied nations. The successful candidate will support Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering, contributing to projects that have a significant global impact. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on Direct Attack weapons and Cruise Missiles deployed on military aircraft and ground platforms, ensuring the effectiveness and safety of these critical systems.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related fields, along with relevant experience in software development. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in programming languages such as C, C++, or Ada, and have worked extensively on real-time embedded software systems. An active U.S. secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one is required. Preferred qualifications include additional years of experience, familiarity with Ada, Python, or C#, and experience working in Agile development environments. Candidates with a strong understanding of software requirements tracing, version control systems like Git, and object-oriented design principles will be highly regarded. Exceptional problem-solving skills, teamwork, and a proactive attitude are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to design, develop, and implement Operational Flight Program (OFP) software solutions for precision-guided weapon systems.

Participate actively in all phases of the software development lifecycle within an Agile environment, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.

Develop robust real-time embedded applications using Ada, C, and C++, adhering to safety and security standards.

Conduct thorough software testing, including system-level verification, to ensure functionality aligns with mission requirements.

Analyze and troubleshoot software defects, providing effective solutions to maintain system integrity and performance.

Develop and enhance leadership skills through project ownership and team collaboration.

Engage directly with U.S. Air Force and Navy customers to understand requirements and provide technical support.

Create models, simulations, and support tools to facilitate software development and validation processes.

Implement DevOps practices, manage software configurations, and participate in Agile release planning.
