About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our team in Fort Meade, MD. In this role, you will leverage your extensive technical expertise to design, develop, and maintain complex software systems that meet stringent performance and functional requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development, particularly with Python, and will be instrumental in creating solutions that enhance the capabilities of our clients. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects within a collaborative environment, contributing to national security initiatives and mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. Candidates with over 20 years of software engineering experience may substitute four years of additional experience for a degree.

Expert-level proficiency in backend software development using Python.

Experience in developing and deploying applications within cloud environments is preferred.

Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.

Responsibilities

Design and develop new software applications or modify existing software to incorporate new features and functionalities, ensuring alignment with project requirements and standards.

Analyze user requirements to derive comprehensive software design and performance specifications, and troubleshoot existing software to identify and resolve defects.

Develop and implement efficient algorithms to meet or surpass system performance and functional standards.

Integrate existing software components into new or modified systems or operating environments, ensuring seamless interoperability.

Collaborate with system engineers and end-users to analyze system performance standards and develop tailored software solutions.

Document software and system processes thoroughly by writing or reviewing documentation to meet process standards and facilitate future maintenance.

Mentor and guide software development team members, ensuring that project milestones are achieved within the constraints of the development lifecycle.
