Software Engineer

About the role

With this in mind, our backend engineers work on R&D Engineering teams, which are dedicated to creating the most seamless, integrated products possible. This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 3 days per week. You will report to the R&D Engineering Team Lead.

We are hiring for the following R&D team(s):

Squarespace Payments is dedicated to simplifying the financial side of commerce, enabling merchants to securely and reliably collect payments from their customers with minimal effort. Our team's mission is to build and maintain systems that allow merchants to focus on what matters most: growing their brand.

You'll Get To…

Write server-side code, create high-volume production applications, and develop prototypes quickly.

Collaborate with other engineers and designers to provide intuitive customer-focused experiences.

Ensure the reliability of systems essential to Squarespace users and businesses powered by Squarespace.

Who We're Looking For

4+ years of development experience in Java, Python, Go or another Object-oriented language. Experience developing large-scale software.

A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design practices.

A sincere commitment to creating readable code and an understanding of database schema design, caching and scalability.

A degree in Computer Science or related or equivalent industry experience.

Cash Compensation Range: $110,500 - $178,250 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive structure in addition to base salary.
