About The Role

We are seeking an experienced iOS Tech Lead to join our team and take ownership of the technical direction, strategy, and health of Pinterest’s iOS platform. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our iOS technology stack aligns with business and product requirements, enabling Pinterest to deliver high-quality features at scale. Your leadership will foster a vibrant iOS engineering community focused on best practices, effective collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will act as the primary decision-maker for technical initiatives impacting the entire iOS ecosystem, leveraging your expertise to drive large-scale projects, migrations, and refactoring efforts. Additionally, you will champion the integration of AI tools to accelerate development cycles and enhance overall platform efficiency, while maintaining accountability for final deliverables. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence Pinterest’s technological future and mentor the next generation of iOS engineers, ensuring a seamless and innovative user experience across our mobile platform.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Deep expertise in building and maintaining scalable iOS systems using modern frameworks

Strong knowledge of current trends, best practices, and architectural patterns in client-side development

Proven track record of delivering large, cross-functional projects across multiple teams and organizations

Experience championing developer velocity and feature quality in fast-paced environments

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams

Demonstrated experience integrating AI tools to improve development speed, quality, and efficiency

Ability to critically evaluate AI-assisted outputs, perform source-checking, testing, and validation to ensure accuracy and reliability

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical lead and primary decision-maker for the Pinterest iOS platform, influencing strategic direction and technical standards

Develop and maintain strong partnerships with product teams to understand future technology needs and address current developer pain points

Lead and drive large-scale, cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving platform stability, performance, and scalability

Leverage AI technologies to accelerate project delivery, streamline migrations, and enhance refactoring efforts, ensuring high-quality outcomes

Represent the needs and concerns of iOS engineers to leadership, advocating for features and tools that improve developer experience

Mentor and scale engineering leadership through best practices, training, and the adoption of effective processes and tools

Ensure comprehensive technical planning and review for all iOS projects, delegating responsibilities as appropriate

Promote a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation within the iOS community
