About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer - Patient Services (Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.

This role will focus on architecting and evolving the core backend systems that support patient services, with an emphasis on scalability, resilience, and data integrity. You will help shape technical strategy during a growth phase, partnering closely with product and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into reliable engineering solutions. The position also calls for strong mentorship and design leadership, helping establish patterns and standards that raise team capability and support long-term platform health.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $120,000 – $140,000 annually

Responsibilities

Architect high-throughput, distributed systems for patient data management

Lead technical strategy for re-engineering core backend systems to enhance scalability and resilience

Solve complex challenges related to system performance and data integrity

Mentor and uplift engineering team capabilities through guidance and knowledge sharing

Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with product vision

Establish and maintain operational standards and design patterns within the team

Drive zero-to-one architectural decisions during a growth phase

Qualifications

4+ years of relevant professional experience

Experience building distributed and event-driven systems

Proficiency in microservice development

Ability to work cross-functionally to connect technical and non-technical stakeholders

Fluency in AI-assisted development tools and frameworks

Experience mentoring and reviewing architecturally sound designs
