Software Engineer II, Backend (Post-Transaction)
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer II, Backend (Post-Transaction) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.
This role will focus on building and evolving backend systems that support post-transaction experiences, with an emphasis on reliability, extensibility, and operational readiness. You will partner closely with product management, design, and analytics to break down work into deliverable phases and help shape technical decisions. The position also involves monitoring system health, contributing to code quality, and supporting a collaborative engineering culture.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $165,000 – $225,000 annually
Responsibilities
Break down larger projects into tasks and ensure timely delivery in phases
Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle
Monitor system metrics and support operational readiness of team artifacts
Engage in team community activities, including participating in the interview process
Participate in ideation and weigh technical constraints in decision-making
Qualifications
1.5+ years of software engineering experience
Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems with proficiency in Python or Kotlin
Familiarity with distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
Ability to create solutions that interact with multiple software components with clear and extensible code
Experience navigating large codebases and providing feedback through code reviews
Demonstrated ownership of personal growth and actively seeking feedback
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration
