Staff Systems Software Engineer
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Staff Systems Software Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Media space.
This role will focus on building and scaling the engineering systems that support quality, performance, and delivery across the studio. You will own test automation, load and stress testing, and infrastructure tooling that helps improve developer velocity and product reliability. The position partners closely with engineering teams to strengthen CI/CD practices, performance analysis, and operational readiness.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $162,500 – $219,000 annually
Responsibilities
Build and manage the functional test automation framework for the studio
Design and implement load and stress testing systems for realistic user behavior
Develop automation for application quality testing across multiple devices
Create and operate on-prem build and GPU clusters
Define developer velocity and quality metrics to help prioritize the roadmap
Mentor fellow engineers in testing strategies and performance analysis
Drive engagement and compliance with testing protocols across teams
Qualifications
5-7 years of experience in software engineering
Strong proficiency in Python, Golang, C/C++, and Jenkins Groovy
Expertise in testing frameworks, load and stress tooling, and chaos engineering
Proficient in performance analysis across CPU, GPU, and memory
Experience with CI/CD systems such as GitLab and Jenkins
Familiarity with infrastructure management tools like Docker and Kubernetes
Solid understanding of distributed systems and disaster recovery strategies
