Staff Machine Learning Engineer
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space.
This role will play a key part in advancing machine learning capabilities that support high-traffic, real-time matching and prediction systems. You will partner closely with Engineering and Product leadership to shape the ML strategy, improve candidate-to-opportunity relevance, and strengthen the performance of core marketplace experiences. The ideal candidate brings deep production ML experience, strong technical leadership, and a track record of building scalable systems that deliver measurable business impact.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $205,000 – $265,000 annually
Responsibilities
Drive the ML strategy and roadmap by collaborating with Engineering and Product Leadership.
Design and own scalable ML systems for dynamic interaction prediction and candidate/job retrieval.
Solve complex matching challenges in two-sided marketplaces, focusing on real-time intent prediction.
Lead by mentoring ML Engineers and Data Scientists, promoting technical excellence across the organization.
Manage end-to-end model ownership from feature engineering to real-time latency optimization.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in large-scale production ML model development and deployment.
Proven track record of architecting end-to-end ML solutions for high traffic environments.
Expertise in Recommendation Systems, Personalization, Ranking & Retrieval, or Interaction Prediction.
Strong software engineering skills with modern deep learning frameworks, including PyTorch and TensorFlow.
Experience in technical leadership and mentoring across engineering and product teams.
Solid background in statistical modeling and online experimentation, including A/B testing.
