Staff Software Engineer
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.
This role will shape the technical direction for a critical software platform supporting advanced vehicle validation and engineering execution. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to define scalable capabilities, establish engineering standards, and help solve complex problems across software, AI models, and hardware integration. The position calls for a strong technical leader who can translate business and customer needs into reliable platform solutions and drive delivery across the full software lifecycle.
You will also influence senior stakeholders on technical decisions while ensuring the platform meets demanding expectations for performance, reliability, and operational excellence.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $189,300 – $290,000 annually
Responsibilities
Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for the software platform.
Lead the design of scalable hardware-in-the-loop capabilities for software validation.
Establish technical standards for platform services and performance.
Solve complex technical problems involving software, AI models, and hardware integration.
Translate customer needs into measurable platform requirements and delivery plans.
Influence technical decisions and align senior leadership on cross-functional initiatives.
Deliver robust software through strong engineering practices and operational support.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in production-quality software systems and leading complex technical initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; Master's or PhD preferred.
Strong coding ability in Python, C++, or similar languages with expertise in software engineering principles.
Proven ability to define and execute technical strategies for complex, distributed systems.
Deep knowledge of scalability, performance, reliability, and operational excellence in software design.
Experience in software development within Linux environments throughout the full software lifecycle.
Strong understanding of platform architecture, APIs, CI/CD, and test automation.
