About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Software Engineer Manager - Supply Chain RE (Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space.

This leader will oversee the engineering efforts that support supply chain operations, with a focus on freight and product delivery systems. The role partners closely with product and operations stakeholders to improve reliability, automation, and day-to-day execution across critical platforms. The manager will guide a distributed team, strengthen incident response practices, and drive operational excellence in a fast-moving retail environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $140,000 – $240,000 annually

Responsibilities

Lead and improve supply chain systems for freight and product delivery

Collaborate with product teams to create reliable software solutions

Automate infrastructure through custom coding or scripting

Monitor and manage critical tooling and platforms with vendors

Develop and maintain dashboards for proactive issue tracking

Guide engineers through technical challenges and escalations

Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning within the team

Qualifications

5-7 years of experience in software engineering and operations

Experience leading distributed engineering teams across multiple domains

Expertise in incident response and operational excellence

Demonstrated ability to implement automation and AI-driven solutions

Strong communication skills for conveying complex technical issues

Proficient in defining Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Objectives (SLOs)

Ability to recruit and develop high-performing engineering talent
