- About the Opportunity:
The Cloud Software Engineer role involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable software tools within a cloud-native ecosystem. The position is essential for translating complex mission requirements into robust, reusable, and secure software solutions on the Google Cloud Platform. The role contributes significantly to the software development lifecycle by collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance and sustain advanced analytics environments for military operations.
- Responsibilities:
Develop, test, and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure software tools and microservices for cloud-native environments.
Design software subsystems promoting code reuse and adherence to technical standards.
Develop and integrate custom APIs, including those exposing AI/ML model outputs.
Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes clusters, using Infrastructure as Code.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated software building, testing, and deployment.
Monitor applications and systems using cloud operation tools for health and performance.
Collaborate with security teams on patching, vulnerability management, and secure coding practices.
Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and facilitate knowledge sharing.
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Requirements:
U.S. citizenship with active TS/SCI security clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
DoD 8570.01-M / DoD 8140 IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+).
3-5+ years of professional software development experience.
Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or Bash.
Experience with containerization (Docker) and foundational Kubernetes orchestration knowledge.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and principles (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins).
Knowledge of cloud networking concepts and secure coding in GCP environments.
Google Cloud Professional Cloud Developer certification.
Desired:
Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience with big data processing frameworks like Apache Spark or Apache Airflow.
Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer certification.
Experience in regulated DoD or Intelligence Community environments.
- Pay Range and Compensation Package:
The proposed salary range for this position is $114,600 to $252,100.
