Position Summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a DevOps Software Engineer to join a high-energy team building and deploying a cutting-edge technology stack in support of a mission-critical data discovery platform modernization effort. The role involves contributing to scalable, containerized microservices architecture and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big-data pipeline built on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.

Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation to accelerate development and improve reliability.

Design and support scalable, redundant infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.

Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new features and evolving requirements.

Partner with Systems Engineers to architect solutions for new capabilities.

Contribute technical input to engineering documentation, diagrams, and models.

Participate in Agile release planning, scrums, design sessions, bug triage, and related team activities.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience; 6+ years with a Master's.

Strong Linux proficiency.

Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes.

Experience with CI/CD orchestration and GitLab.

Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.

Demonstrated success working in cross-functional engineering environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience operating systems at scale.

Knowledge of Agile methodologies.

Development experience (Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java, etc.).

Experience supporting enterprise or production systems.

Familiarity with Kafka or other messaging systems (AMQP, JMS).

Familiarity with Kubernetes monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).

Familiarity with GPU-based Kubernetes.

Familiarity with SALT for deployment automation.

Familiarity with Helm / Helmfile.

Familiarity with Nexus.

Required Education and Experience Equivalency

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience.

Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
