GoAccess is building the modern access platform for private communities. Our platform brings software and physical access together—from visitor management to license plate recognition, intercoms, access control systems, and real-time security operations. We're a small, fast-moving team building technology that sits at the center of how communities operate every day.

The Role

You'll be part of a lean engineering team building the core GoAccess platform. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll own projects end-to-end—from idea and system design through implementation, deployment, and production.

As a true fullstack engineer, you'll work across our web applications, backend services, APIs, infrastructure, and integrations with real-world hardware.

You'll work closely with engineering, product, and company leadership, have meaningful input into technical and product decisions, and be expected to independently turn problems into shipped solutions.

We move fast, ship regularly, and use AI coding tools extensively to accelerate development. We're looking for engineers who know how to use those tools effectively while still maintaining a high bar for architecture, code quality, reliability, and the software we put into production.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of software engineering experience

Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React, and modern fullstack development

Experience building and maintaining production APIs, backend services, and web applications

Strong understanding of relational databases, system design, and application architecture

Ownership & attention to detail: You can take an ambiguous problem, figure out what needs to be built, and own it through production

Engineering judgment: You know when to move quickly, when to slow down, and how to make pragmatic technical decisions

Production mindset: You think about performance, reliability, observability, security, and how your code behaves after it's deployed

Integration experience: You're comfortable working with third-party APIs, webhooks, external systems, and imperfect documentation

Be results-driven: We care about solving customer problems and shipping working software, not engineering for engineering's sake

AI-native development: You actively use AI coding tools to increase your speed and effectiveness without outsourcing engineering judgment

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, operations, and customers

Bonus: Experience with access control, IoT, computer vision, LPR, SIP/WebRTC, payments, or other hardware-connected systems

Bonus: Experience at an early-stage startup or building and shipping products from 0 → 1
