About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Resiliency Engineer to join Vanguard's Resiliency Engineering Team. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and enhancing enterprise-scale software solutions that elevate the company's ability to proactively manage and improve the resilience, recoverability, and reliability of critical business services. The successful candidate will work on expanding Vanguard’s synthetic monitoring capabilities, enterprise resiliency intelligence platforms, and cloud-native services, contributing to the modernization of our infrastructure. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence enterprise-wide resiliency strategies, leverage AI-powered solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to create next-generation operational experiences that drive operational excellence and reduce operational risk.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of relevant work experience in software engineering or related fields. A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a comparable discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. Candidates should demonstrate a strong foundation in cloud-native development, distributed systems, and automation solutions. Familiarity with observability, resiliency, and platform engineering concepts is highly desirable. Proven experience in developing APIs, integrations, or event-driven architectures, along with a solid understanding of automation and engineering productivity tools, will be advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and a passion for innovative technology solutions are essential.

Responsibilities

Design, analyze, and implement advanced enterprise-scale applications and platforms that enhance system resiliency and operational efficiency.

Develop cloud-native services, APIs, integrations, and automation workflows to support enterprise resiliency initiatives.

Lead technical design discussions, contribute to platform architecture decisions, and ensure scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions.

Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), product owners, architects, and engineering teams to address enterprise resiliency challenges effectively.

Create reusable frameworks and automation tools that improve resiliency outcomes and operational efficiency.

Develop AI-enabled capabilities, such as intelligent agents and decision-support skills, to reduce operational toil and enhance decision-making processes.

Mentor junior engineers, participate in code reviews, testing, and provide production support to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Contribute to initiatives aimed at observability, reliability, performance, and operational excellence across platforms.

Participate in special projects and undertake additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals.
