About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer in Maryland Heights, MO, to support our future franchise programs within Boeing's Tapestry Solutions division. This role involves developing cutting-edge software for the next-generation Mission Planning system designed for the Department of Defense. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a scrum team, following the SAFe Agile methodology to deliver high-quality weapon planning software. The system utilizes a microservices architecture, with front-end development primarily using JavaScript and React, and back-end services developed mainly in C#. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical defense systems that require precision, innovation, and collaboration.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance. Candidates should have at least 5 years of software development experience, including proficiency in languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, C#, and/or C++. Experience with RESTful APIs, version control tools like Git, and Agile development processes is essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required, along with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including systems engineers, hardware engineers, and project managers. Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and system validation in complex environments is also necessary.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain weapon planning software throughout its lifecycle, ensuring reliability and performance.

Collaborate with Product Owners to review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into initial software designs.

Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of software functionalities, including system integrations and architecture documentation.

Debug and troubleshoot technical issues, providing timely resolutions to ensure system integrity and performance.

Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of software development processes, best practices, and standards.

Participate in code reviews, testing, and validation activities to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Maintain comprehensive documentation of software designs, interface specifications, and test plans.
