About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Application Software Engineer (Experience or Senior level) to join our Phantom Works Open Architecture Systems Integrated Software (OASIS) Solutions team based in Berkeley, MO. This role is integral to supporting Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering, focusing on developing innovative embedded software solutions for complex defense systems. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment, engaging in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking aerospace projects, leveraging your expertise to solve challenging problems and drive technological advancements in defense applications.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience for the experienced level and 5+ years for senior roles. An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret & Special Program Access is required. Proficiency in C++ and C# programming languages, along with extensive experience in Linux development, version control systems such as Git, and software architecture development, is essential. Knowledge of network architectures, especially TCP/UDP communication protocols, and familiarity with open architecture frameworks are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, adaptability to new technologies, and a commitment to quality and safety standards. Additional preferred qualifications include experience with software testing tools, domain-specific knowledge, and a proven track record of delivering complex software projects in defense or aerospace environments.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software throughout its lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry, safety, and regulatory standards.
Translate customer requirements into initial software design concepts, creating detailed specifications and interface definitions.
Develop and document interface definitions, ensuring seamless integration with hardware and other software components.
Perform unit testing and integration testing to verify functionality, performance, and safety of software solutions.
Participate in peer reviews, code inspections, and design reviews to uphold quality standards and foster continuous improvement.
Support software system integration and testing activities, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing performance.
Create comprehensive software documentation, including design documents, test plans, and user manuals.
