About The Role
We are seeking an experienced or senior Software Engineer/Developer to join our Phantom Works Open Architecture Systems Integrated Software (OASIS) Solutions team based in Berkeley, MO, near the St. Louis area. This role is pivotal in supporting Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering initiatives, particularly focusing on space-based effects in support of air domain missions. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, candidates must possess an active U.S. Secret security clearance, with the clearance being current within the past 24 months. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of innovative software solutions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex problems and advance aerospace capabilities.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, data science, or related fields, and possess substantial experience in software engineering. Candidates must have at least five years of relevant experience, including proficiency in C++, MATLAB, and familiarity with the Agile development lifecycle. An active Top Secret U.S. security clearance is mandatory, and U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility. Preferred qualifications include extensive experience in software development, familiarity with physics-based modeling software, and experience working with Linux and Windows operating systems. Additional skills such as DevSecOps practices, real-time software development, and Java programming are advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical abilities, adaptability to new technologies, and excellent collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain non-embedded software throughout the entire development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
Translate customer needs and requirements into initial software design concepts, ensuring clarity and feasibility.
Lead and mentor junior engineers in software development activities, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
Develop interface definitions and ensure seamless integration with other system components.
Perform comprehensive unit testing and system integration testing to validate software functionality and performance.
Participate actively in peer reviews to maintain high-quality code standards and facilitate knowledge sharing.
Support software system integration and testing efforts, troubleshooting issues, and refining solutions as needed.
Create detailed software documentation to ensure maintainability, scalability, and compliance with project standards.
Interface with various programming languages and tools, including C++, MATLAB, Java, and scripting environments, to develop robust software solutions.
