About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated F-22 Simulation Software Engineer to join our F-22 Simulation Infrastructure team based in Berkeley, Missouri. This role is pivotal in supporting Boeing Defense, Space & Security's software engineering initiatives, focusing on the development and maintenance of sophisticated simulation environments used for testing and validating the capabilities of the F-22 Raptor fighter jet. As part of an agile team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to design, implement, and refine simulation models, visualization tools, and virtual environments that enhance testing performance, safety, and system durability throughout the product lifecycle. Your contributions will directly impact the advancement of avionics solutions for the United States Air Force’s premier 5th generation fighter aircraft, ensuring it remains at the forefront of aerial superiority.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of educational background and practical experience aligned with the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline such as Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, including eligibility for access to Special Access Programs (SAP), which requires U.S. citizenship.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in programming languages such as Ada, C++, Python, and C#.
Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems.
Strong understanding of software development principles, simulation modeling, and virtual environment creation.
Experience working within real-time software architectures and frameworks.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of tasks, including but not limited to:
Designing, developing, and maintaining simulation models, visualization tools, and virtual environments to support testing and validation activities.
Collaborating with stakeholders to gather and analyze simulation requirements, ensuring models accurately reflect system dynamics and performance.
Conducting modeling, simulation, testing, and analysis to assess system performance, identify issues, and optimize capabilities.
Collecting, processing, and analyzing data to enhance simulation accuracy and reliability.
Validating, verifying, and refining simulation software, models, and test procedures, including executing tests and documenting results against real-world data and benchmarks.
Maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, including code, algorithms, and specifications for simulation models.
Working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate simulation software with hardware systems and devices.
Implementing emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to modernize and improve simulation environments.
Supporting the migration, modernization, and updating of legacy simulation software to current operating systems and hardware platforms.
