About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Network Protocols and Devices for a full-time, direct-hire position with one of our esteemed partners based in the United States. This role is remote, providing flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere within the U.S. However, candidates must be U.S. citizens or Green Card holders, as sponsorship is not available for this position. This is a critical role within the company’s SaaS Solutions Engineering team, focusing on developing and maintaining cloud-native network security and authentication platforms. The successful candidate will be instrumental in enhancing the company’s network infrastructure, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity solutions for global hotel and multi-family residence clients.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess over 8 years of extensive software engineering experience, particularly in network-focused roles. Proven expertise with MikroTik devices, RouterOS scripting, and API integration is essential. A deep understanding of RADIUS, AAA workflows, 802.1X, EAP methods, and certificate-based authentication is required. Candidates should have a solid grasp of fundamental networking concepts such as routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls, DHCP, DNS, and VPNs. Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like CloudFormation is preferred. Familiarity with RESTful API design, AWS cloud services—especially serverless architectures—and Linux command-line environments will be highly advantageous. Additionally, experience with diverse programming languages and frameworks, including legacy technologies like .NET and C#, as well as modern tools like Python and Elasticsearch, will be considered a plus.

Responsibilities

Architect, develop, and maintain software systems that interface with or control network infrastructure components.

Configure, manage, and troubleshoot MikroTik RouterOS environments, including scripting, API integration, and policy enforcement to ensure optimal network performance.

Design, build, and maintain secure, efficient, containerized services optimized for resource-constrained environments within modern Linux-based infrastructure.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including developers, product managers, and UX designers—to translate user stories into scalable, high-performance features and services.

Lead the integration of advanced network protocols focusing on RADIUS, 802.1X, and related AAA technologies to enhance security and connectivity.

Develop automation tools and network services that streamline configuration management, authentication processes, and device lifecycle management.

Partner with team members across departments to resolve architectural and code-design challenges, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.

Stay updated on industry best practices in service design and software development, advocating for decisions that support long-term scalability and efficiency.

Participate actively in Agile development cycles, contributing to two-week sprints and continuous improvement initiatives.

Incorporate security requirements into the software development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Engage in security reviews and technical discovery sessions to identify vulnerabilities and improve system resilience.

Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and best practice adherence.

Assist with on-call responsibilities, providing support for critical system issues and incident management.
