The Tensilica Products Group of Cadence is a leading provider of processor IP for audio, vision, and AI applications in embedded platforms. We are looking for a skilled, creative Software Engineer to help design, build, and improve our processor generator, processing systems, and supporting infrastructure. In this role that involves software and systems engineering, you will work across the full product life cycle: analyzing user needs; designing and developing control components, backend systems, database interfaces, supporting web applications; and automated testing. You will be working with our processor generator engineering team and interacting with several other teams. This is a great opportunity for a systems/infrastructure/software engineer to make major contributions in a core team that develops and operates parts of our infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain

Control systems for driving build systems of multiple products and supporting infrastructure

Infrastructure components for interacting with other databases, systems, and APIs

Web REST API servlets that support remote product functionality connecting to systems and databases

Automated systems for importing order information into live build and delivery systems

Web applications supporting both customers and internal infrastructure

Manage product release branches in source control systems like perforce and git

Design and evolve SQL and other databases to support product functionality and internal management systems

Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine the feasibility of designs within time and cost constraints

Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, upgrade interfaces, and improve performance

Engineer tests and integrate features into new releases; support application teams during test phases

Collaborate with marketing, applications, and order processing teams to streamline delivery and management systems

Supporting delivery system operations, and automating fulfillment and those delivery systems to reduce the need for manual processing

Requirements

Master’s degree in computer science or a related field + 7 years of related experience, or Bachelor’s degree + 10 years of related experience

Strong programming skills in Java, Perl, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python and shells

Strong experience building database driven production systems in Java, Perl, Python etc.

Experience building Java and React web applications that interact with SQL databases based on REST services

Experience architecting and configuring web and application servers (particularly Tomcat)

Experience designing and developing SQL and NoSQL databases

Experience designing / building test systems for web and infrastructure systems

Experience with Jenkins or equivalent and dashboarding systems like Grafana

Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and ability to take initiative

Strong communication skills and the ability to lead, and work with other teams

Fluency working with and scripting tasks on Windows and Linux systems

Strong understanding of operating systems and computer architecture

The annual salary range for California is $161,000 to $299,000. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
