About the Role
We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to help creative teams and enterprises adopt generative AI across image, video, 3D, vector graphics, and design.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering, applied AI, product, and customer delivery. You will work directly with customers to understand complex workflows, identify high-value opportunities, and build solutions that connect emerging AI capabilities with real production environments.
The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering skills with experience in generative AI and visual computing. You should be comfortable moving from an ambiguous customer problem to a working prototype and, ultimately, a reliable production solution.
Responsibilities
Partner with creative, technical, and business stakeholders to understand their workflows, systems, and goals.
Identify opportunities to apply generative AI across image, video, 3D, vector graphics, and design.
Build prototypes, integrations, and production-ready solutions that deliver measurable customer value.
Adapt generative and multimodal models to customer-specific use cases, datasets, brand requirements, and production environments.
Integrate AI capabilities into existing creative tools, content pipelines, and enterprise systems.
Work with research, product, engineering, and design teams to translate customer needs into technical requirements and product direction.
Evaluate solutions based on quality, controllability, consistency, reliability, and production usefulness.
Diagnose technical issues across models, APIs, data pipelines, infrastructure, and customer integrations.
Document successful approaches and develop reusable implementation patterns for future deployments.
Serve as a trusted technical partner throughout discovery, prototyping, implementation, and deployment.
Qualifications
Strong software engineering experience building and deploying machine learning or AI-powered applications.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, or a related field.
Experience with generative AI, multimodal systems, computer vision, graphics, or creative technology.
Strong programming skills in Python and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch.
Experience turning prototypes and experiments into reliable production systems.
Familiarity with APIs, cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, model serving, and enterprise integrations.
Ability to translate ambiguous customer problems into clearly scoped technical solutions.
Strong communication skills and experience working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to balance speed, technical quality, customer value, and scalability.
Experience in several of the following areas:
Generative image or video models
3D generation, reconstruction, or neural rendering
Vector graphics, layout, typography, or design systems
Multimodal representation learning
Creative software and production pipelines
Model customization, fine-tuning, or inference optimization
Highly Desirable
Experience in forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, applied AI, machine learning engineering, or technical consulting.
Experience delivering complex technical implementations for enterprise customers.
Experience in professional creative domains such as VFX, games, animation, advertising, e-commerce, graphic design, or 3D production.
Experience integrating AI models into creative tools or content-production pipelines.
Experience with controllable generation, layered editing, multi-view consistency, relightable assets, structured design outputs, or brand-constrained generation.
Familiarity with model evaluation, GPU infrastructure, inference optimization, and production monitoring.
Willingness to travel periodically for customer workshops and strategic engagements.
Equal Employment Opportunity
We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability, or other legally protected statuses.

About Stability AI
Stability AI is the leader in purpose-built AI products for professional creatives across music, gaming, and entertainment. Stability AI sparked the generative AI revolution when it announced the release of Stable Diffusion in August 2022, putting generative technology in the hands of millions of creators globally and cementing its position as a leader in the field. Stable Diffusion models have since been downloaded more than 350 million times, serving as the technical foundation for an entire ecosystem of work. We build for creatives first. Our work expands beyond the models themselves into products and solutions designed for specific production workflows. This artist-centric approach is why Electronic Arts, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, WPP, and others have chosen us as their strategic partner. Stability AI is recognized among Fortune's 50 AI Innovators and TIME's Most Influential Companies, with Stable Audio named to TIME's Best Inventions list. In June 2024, Stability AI entered a new phase of growth with a leadership team including CEO Prem Akkaraju, Executive Chairman Sean Parker, and Board Member James Cameron, alongside board members Dana Settle and Thomas Laffont. The company is backed by world-class investors including interactive entertainment innovator Electronic Arts; global leaders in music entertainment Sony Music Group, Universal Music Group, and Warner Music Group; investment firms Greycroft, Coatue, WPP, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sound Ventures, AMD Ventures, and Mantis Capital; and individual investors Sean Parker, Eric Schmidt, and James Cameron.
