About the role

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 2 years of experience with software development with C++, Python, or Go

programming language.

• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.

• Understanding of computer architecture, server hardware, networking basics

(e.g., switches, routers), out-of-band management.

• Familiarity with Linux environments and system-level programming concepts.
• Interest in distributed systems, operating systems, or low-level software.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills,

experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $147000 - $210000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build features and improve infrastructure to support scaling Load Balancing

products to meet the needs of our Google Cloud Platform customers.

• Contribute to projects involving hardware qualification, low-level software

integration, optimizing system performance, and enhancing our fleet

management capabilities. Examples of team projects include Vendor-on-Net,

Borgification (off-net and on-net), and XT-ToR.

• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners (e.g., hardware

vendors, SRE teams, service owners) to deliver on project goals.

• Improve system reliability, performance, security, and scalability across a

large, distributed fleet.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software systems and

features, primarily using C++, Python, and Go.
