About The Role

Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess U.S. citizenship and hold an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field is required. Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in debugging applications on simulated and target hardware, with deep knowledge of real-time operating systems such as Green Hills Integrity or VxWorks. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective collaboration and reporting. Additional qualifications include experience in embedded software development, project management, and proficiency in modern C++ programming standards. Familiarity with software modeling tools like IBM Rhapsody or MagicDraw/Cameo is preferred. Candidates should also demonstrate a strong understanding of hardware-software interfaces, system performance requirements, and the full SDLC process.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a software development team, providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
Analyze project requirements and translate them into effective, maintainable software solutions.
Plan project timelines, define tasks, allocate resources, and monitor team performance using EVMS techniques.
Design and implement software using modern C++ standards, ensuring code quality and system reliability.
Support embedded software development, including the creation of device drivers and board support packages for real-time systems.
Investigate and resolve complex technical issues independently or collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams.
Develop and execute software test plans, procedures, and documentation to ensure system integrity and performance.
Collaborate closely with hardware engineering teams to develop interfaces and optimize system performance.
Participate in all phases of the SDLC, from requirements analysis through deployment and maintenance.
Ensure compliance with security standards, including information assurance and cryptography protocols, where applicable.
