About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our Palm Bay, FL team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the design, development, integration, and testing of embedded computing systems critical to our advanced military programs, including the F-15 Aviate Navigate Communicate (ANC) and Mission Processor (MP) development and EMD production programs. Your expertise will contribute to developing secure, reliable, and high-performance mission architectures that are at the forefront of defense technology. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, providing technical leadership and ensuring the successful delivery of mission-critical systems. This position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that directly impact national security and defense capabilities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with at least 9 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 7 years of experience. Alternatively, candidates without a degree but with 13 or more years of pertinent industry experience will also be considered. A current Secret US Security Clearance is required to ensure compliance with security protocols essential to national defense projects. Candidates should demonstrate a strong background in embedded systems development, software architecture, and systems integration, with extensive experience in military and aerospace environments. Proven leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of embedded software solutions using C/C++ and other programming tools, ensuring adherence to project requirements and industry standards.

Design, analyze, and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software components, supporting system architecture and operational performance specifications.

Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies utilizing frameworks such as Python-based test tools and software coverage analysis to validate system functionality and reliability.

Support integration of mission systems architecture, ensuring seamless operation and interoperability across platforms.

Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to support customer deployments, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting as needed.

Participate in design reviews, architecture assessments, and technical meetings, contributing insights and leadership to complex system development efforts.

Assist in hardware and software integration activities, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.

Maintain documentation of design processes, testing procedures, and system configurations to support certification and future upgrades.

Support program management activities, including risk management, schedule adherence, and resource planning.
