About The Role

The Boeing Company is seeking a DevSecOps Software Engineer (Associate or Experienced) based in Saint Charles, MO. This role is ideal for a passionate individual who specializes in DevSecOps practices and is eager to work within a multidisciplinary, collaborative engineering environment. The successful candidate will support the design, development, and implementation of embedded software for Boeing’s Phantom Works products. This position primarily focuses on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) and Boeing Phantom Works software engineering teams. Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, data science, physics, chemistry, or related fields. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance post-employment. A minimum of 2 years of experience in the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, integration, and testing, is required. Additionally, candidates should have at least 2 years of experience working with Development Operations (DevOps) and/or Development Security Operations (DevSecOps), along with test automation expertise. Proficiency in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools, version control systems, and automation frameworks is essential. Preferred qualifications include 3 or more years of related work experience, active U.S. Secret Security Clearance, experience with GitLab, agile methodologies, containerization and orchestration (such as Docker and Kubernetes), build automation, and familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) security controls. Candidates should also have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

Lead the development, documentation, and maintenance of standardized, efficient, and innovative DevSecOps processes, tools, methodologies, and performance metrics to streamline the software engineering lifecycle and enable continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of mission-critical software.

Automate, monitor, improve, and troubleshoot across software development, tooling, testing, integration, deployment, configuration processes, and security controls to ensure optimal performance and security.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and maintain robust, scalable, and secure software development pipelines aligned with project requirements and industry best practices.

Implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulations within the DevSecOps environment to enhance operational efficiency and security posture.

Perform installation and configuration of integrated software engineering environments based on the DevSecOps framework, ensuring seamless integration and compliance.

Design and develop automation processes, assisting in software build, release activities, and deployment strategies to facilitate rapid and reliable software delivery.

Provide technical support to software teams, ensuring adherence to security directives, application security standards, and customer requirements.

Manage software dependencies, including evaluation, licensing, integration, and ongoing maintenance, to support development activities effectively.

Assist with database support, virtual environment setup, and infrastructure configuration to optimize development and testing processes.

Support operating system and platform hardening efforts to safeguard systems against cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.

Advise management and program leadership on software process adherence, implementation strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure engineering excellence and program success.

Lead DevSecOps training sessions to educate team members on tooling, best practices, and principles, fostering a culture of security and automation within the team.
