About The Role
The Boeing Company is seeking a highly skilled Mission Software Engineer (Experienced or Senior) to join our Phantom Works Open Architecture Systems Integrated Software (OASIS) Solutions team based in Berkeley, MO (St. Louis, MO). This role is integral to supporting Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering operations. The successful candidate will work on developing advanced software solutions for space-based effects supporting air domain missions. This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects that enhance national security and space exploration capabilities.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, along with extensive experience in software engineering. Candidates must hold an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance. A minimum of five years of relevant software development experience, particularly with C++ and MATLAB, is required. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, Linux and Windows operating systems, and software testing is essential. Preferred qualifications include higher levels of experience, additional security clearances such as Top Secret, and familiarity with physics-based modeling software and DevSecOps practices. Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning and innovation.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain non-embedded software throughout the entire lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
Translate customer requirements into initial software design concepts, ensuring alignment with project goals and technical specifications.
Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on high-quality software development.
Develop interface definitions and ensure seamless integration of software components across various systems.
Perform comprehensive unit and integration testing to validate software functionality and reliability.
Participate in peer reviews to uphold coding standards and best practices.
Support software system integration and testing activities to ensure system performance and robustness.
Create detailed software documentation to facilitate maintenance and future development efforts.
Interface with multidisciplinary teams and utilize various programming languages to develop comprehensive solutions.
