Senior Virtual Reality / AI Engineer
Location: REMOTE – Must be in EST Time Zone
Position Overview:
Senior Virtual Reality / AI Engineer with strong hands-on experience building Virtual Reality (VR/XR) applications using Unity. The ideal candidate should understand the complete VR development lifecycle, including architecture, 3D asset development, application development, integration, testing, optimization, and deployment.
The candidate must have experience with Unity, Android-based VR environments, Windows development, Blender/3D graphics, and AI/Generative AI. Strong knowledge of how AI can be leveraged to accelerate VR development, automate workflows, and enhance immersive experiences is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize immersive VR/XR applications using Unity.
Understand and contribute to the complete VR architecture and development lifecycle.
Develop VR solutions for Android-based VR environments and support development in Windows environments.
Use Blender and other 3D tools to create, modify, optimize, and integrate 3D models, environments, animations, and graphical assets.
Integrate AI and Generative AI capabilities into VR applications and development workflows.
Leverage AI for prototyping, asset generation, content creation, automation, testing, and optimization.
Explore AI-assisted generation and modification of 3D assets, environments, interactions, animations, and immersive content.
Optimize VR applications for Android-based hardware, including rendering, memory, frame rate, latency, and overall performance.
Troubleshoot issues related to Unity, VR frameworks, graphics/rendering, Android environments, and device integration.
Collaborate with engineering, design, AI, and product teams.
Evaluate emerging technologies in VR, XR, spatial computing, 3D development, and Generative AI.
Required Skills
Strong hands-on Virtual Reality / XR development experience.
Unity – Mandatory.
Strong understanding of VR architecture and application development lifecycle.
Experience developing VR applications for Android-based systems/devices.
Experience working in Windows development environments.
Hands-on experience with Blender and 3D graphics/asset development.
Strong knowledge of AI, Generative AI, and AI-assisted development.
Experience using AI to accelerate software, VR, and content-development workflows.
Strong knowledge of 3D graphics, rendering, animation, spatial environments, and interactive experiences.
Experience optimizing VR applications for performance-constrained devices.
Strong software engineering, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Meta Quest, OpenXR, or similar VR/XR platforms.
C# / Unity development.
Android SDK, APIs, device integration, and performance optimization.
AI/ML or Generative AI integration into interactive applications.
Computer vision, spatial computing, 3D reconstruction, procedural generation, or AI-generated 3D content.
Real-time rendering, shaders, lighting, textures, animation, and 3D optimization.
Experience developing AI-powered tools to improve developer/designer productivity.
