About the Role
Embr is looking for an ambitious, hands-on Computer Science undergraduate or graduate student to join our engineering team as a Full Stack Software Engineer Intern. You'll work directly with our engineering team to build and scale our web and mobile applications, gaining real-world experience shipping production code that our users interact with every day. This is a great opportunity for a motivated student who wants to move beyond coursework and contribute to a fast-moving product from day one.
What You'll Do
Design, build, and ship features across our web and mobile applications
Work with our backend services to build and maintain RESTful and mobile-facing APIs
Contribute to our database schema and data models using PostgreSQL and Prisma ORM
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers throughout the development lifecycle
Write clean, well-tested, maintainable TypeScript code
Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team standups
Debug and troubleshoot issues across the full stack
Help improve engineering processes, documentation, and best practices

Who We are Looking For
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
Comfortable working across the stack — frontend, backend, and database layers
Familiar with TypeScript, Next.js, and Express.js
Understands relational databases and has some exposure to ORMs like Prisma
Strong problem-solving skills and a genuine curiosity about how software systems are built
Self-starter who takes ownership
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment
Must have experience building mobile apps
Compensation
This is an unpaid internship with the potential for a paid contract with EMBR upon successful completion of the internship period, based on organizational needs and mutual fit.
