Software Engineer II & III
About the role
Data Intelligence, LLC (DI) is seeking both Software Engineer II and Software Engineer III candidates to support advanced software development, integration, and sustainment efforts for mission-critical U.S. Navy tactical systems in Huntsville, AL. These roles support development of advanced radar and defense system capabilities within a collaborative Agile engineering environment.
This position is fully on-site in Huntsville, AL. A current, active security clearance that is at least Secret level (or higher) is required.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain software solutions for tactical defense systems
Participate in full software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities in an Agile environment
Support system integration, testing, and troubleshooting of distributed software systems
Analyze system requirements and contribute to software design and implementation
Perform debugging, root cause analysis, and defect resolution
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams including systems, test, and integration
Support technical reviews, documentation, and process compliance
Required Experience & Qualifications
Software Engineer II
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2–4 years of software development experience
Experience with C++, Java, Python, or other object-oriented programming languages
Experience working in Agile development environments
Experience with Linux/UNIX environments
Familiarity with IDEs such as Eclipse
Understanding of UML and software modeling concepts
Exposure to automated or driver-based testing environments
Software Engineer III
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5–7 years of software development experience
Strong proficiency in C++ preferred (or equivalent object-oriented language)
Experience contributing across the full software development lifecycle
Experience working in Agile development environments
Experience with Linux/UNIX environments
Proficiency with IDEs such as Eclipse
Familiarity with UML and software modeling concepts
Experience with automated or driver-based testing environments
Preferred Technical Background (Applicable to Both Levels)
Object-oriented design and development experience including design patterns and modular architecture
Expertise with C++, MATLAB, and scripting languages
Experience in two or more of the following:
Systems Engineering
Software and System Analysis
Requirements Development
Verification and Validation
Trade Studies
Modeling and Simulation
Integration and Test
Radar systems experience, including:
Solid State Radar systems
Signal processing
Radar algorithms
Modeling and simulation
Data analysis
Strong mathematics background including:
Linear algebra
Statistical analysis
Signal processing
Experience using Cameo or similar tools to create SysML model-based systems engineering artifacts
Current, active government clearance at Secret level or higher
Experience Experience with the following tools are preferred:
ClearCase or other version control tools
JIRA or similar project management tools
xUnit Framework, JUnit, and CPPUnitLite
Assemblers
CMMI Level 5 lifecycle processes and procedures
