Junior Software Engineer
About the role
Akkodis is seeking a Junior Software Engineer for a 12-month contract role with a client located in Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid).
Pay Range: $30- $40/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
About the Role
The client's Architecture & Innovation organization is building the AI capability that will run inside our core shipping, logistics, and customer-facing systems. We are hiring two early-career engineers to build production AI agents and automations — both on low-code platforms (Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, AI Builder) and in pro-code (Python, Java, TypeScript) where the problem demands it.
This is a builder role, not a support role. You will own agents end to end: talk to the business user, understand the process, design the flow, build it, test it, and take it to production.
What You'll Do
Build and ship AI agents and automated workflows on Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, and AI Builder for business teams across Commercial, Logistics, Terminals, and Finance
Develop pro-code components where low-code hits its limits — API integrations, custom connectors, data extraction services, MCP tool servers
Sit with business users to understand a process before automating it, and translate what you hear into a working design
Write clean, reviewable code and follow SDLC discipline: version control, code review, testing, CI/CD, structured deployment across DEV/UAT/PROD
Instrument what you build — logging, error handling, and enough observability that someone else can diagnose it at 2am
Participate in Agile ceremonies, keep your work visible in Jira, and communicate status without being chased
Rotate through our internal AI support channel, fielding agent-development questions from business users across the company
Minimum Qualifications
Junior Software Engineer - Agentic AI & Intelligent Automation.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled
Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, an EAP program, commuter benefits, and a 401K plan. Our benefit offerings provide employees the flexibility to choose the type of coverage that meets their individual needs. In addition, our associates may be eligible for paid leave including Paid Sick Leave or any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law, as well as Holiday pay where applicable. Disclaimer: These benefit offerings do not apply to client-recruited jobs and jobs that are direct hires to a client.
The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable:

· Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance
