AI Product Lifecycle and Support Specialist

Location: Bethesda, MD (onsite 2 days per week)

We’re looking for an experienced AI Product Lifecycle and Support Specialist to join our team supporting the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Center for Information Technology (CIT) STRIDES program.

This is a unique opportunity for an AI professional who enjoys working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, cloud technology, product management, and scientific research.

In this role, you’ll help bridge the gap between emerging AI/cloud capabilities and the needs of scientists and researchers across NIH. You’ll work directly with a diverse group of stakeholders to evaluate AI products, understand research needs, promote available capabilities, support user adoption, and manage products throughout their lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

Manage and coordinate the end-to-end lifecycle of AI products and services, from needs analysis and product evaluation through adoption, operations, and ongoing optimization.

Engage with NIH scientists, researchers, technical teams, and program stakeholders to understand AI-related needs and use cases.

Evaluate AI tools, platforms, and services available through cloud and technology marketplaces.

Translate complex AI capabilities into clear, practical information for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Proactively communicate AI product offerings and capabilities to the NIH scientific community.

Coordinate product onboarding, licensing, access, and user adoption activities.

Develop user-facing resources such as product guides, FAQs, onboarding materials, knowledge articles, and best-practice documentation.

Monitor product utilization, adoption, licensing, and operational performance.

Analyze usage data and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities to improve adoption and optimize the AI product portfolio.

Coordinate with cloud providers, technology vendors, technical teams, and NIH stakeholders to resolve product and support needs.

Develop reports and metrics to communicate product performance, adoption, risks, and opportunities to program leadership.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

6–10 years of relevant professional experience in areas such as technology delivery, product management, project coordination, AI, cloud services, or data and analytics.

Strong understanding of AI technologies and products, including generative AI and modern AI-enabled platforms.

Experience supporting technology products or services throughout the product lifecycle.

Familiarity with major cloud platforms and their marketplaces, such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.

Experience gathering stakeholder requirements and translating them into actionable product or technology recommendations.

Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to scientists, researchers, business stakeholders, and technical teams.

Strong analytical, organizational, project coordination, and communication skills.

Experience developing technical documentation, presentations, reports, or user enablement materials.

Ability to work onsite at the NIH Fernwood campus in Bethesda, MD, two days per week.

Nice to Have

Experience supporting AI, generative AI, machine learning, or data science products in an enterprise environment.

Knowledge of AI/ML offerings from AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.

Experience with software licensing, subscription management, usage analytics, or cloud cost optimization.

Familiarity with responsible AI, AI governance, data security, privacy, and risk considerations.

Experience supporting scientific research, healthcare, academic, or federal government organizations.

Previous experience supporting NIH, HHS, or another federal agency.

Who Will Thrive in This Role?

You may be a great fit if you understand AI technology but don't necessarily want to spend your day building models or writing code.

We’re looking for someone who can understand the technology, evaluate products, ask the right questions, and help people successfully use AI.

You should be comfortable moving between conversations with technical teams, cloud providers, program leadership, scientists, and researchers—and translating between those audiences when needed.

Compensation

This role is budgeted at an annual salary of $120,000-$140,000, plus benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage, PTO, and partial 401(k) match

Vetting

Candidates selected will be subject to a background investigation for clearance eligibility by our government client.
