Hiring: AI Engineer (LLM, Agents & Data Engineering) | Austin, TX or Sunnyvale, CA | Hybrid
We're looking for an experienced AI Engineer with strong expertise in Python, LLMs, Prompt Engineering, AI Evaluation, and modern software engineering practices to join a fast-paced AI engineering team focused on building and improving AI-powered products.
Location: Austin, TX or Sunnyvale, CA (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 Months (Possibility of Extension)
Work Authorization: USC & GC Candidates Only
Key Responsibilities & Skills:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with Python or similar programming languages
- Hands-on experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Prompt Engineering
- Design, test, optimize, and iterate prompts for AI-powered products and applications
- Strong understanding of AI evaluation methodologies, model quality, consistency, and evaluation metrics
- Build and maintain evaluation frameworks to measure AI model performance
- Develop tools and infrastructure to streamline prompt development, testing, and experimentation workflows
- Collaborate with Product, Research, Engineering, and Safety teams to support AI feature development and model releases
- Experience with version control, CI/CD, and modern software development practices
- Support rapid experimentation, A/B testing, and continuous improvement of AI systems
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Mentor engineers and promote best practices in Prompt Engineering and AI development
What We're Looking For:
A highly motivated AI Engineer who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on LLM and Prompt Engineering experience. The ideal candidate should be comfortable experimenting rapidly, building evaluation frameworks, and translating AI capabilities into reliable, high-quality production solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Claude or other frontier AI models
- Background in Machine Learning, NLP, Generative AI, or related fields
- Experience with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks
- Familiarity with AI Safety, Responsible AI, and Alignment concepts
- Experience building tools and infrastructure for AI/ML workflows
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
