Role Description The Lead Data Scientist is a full-time remote role responsible for driving data science initiatives that power AI-enabled solutions for client legacy system modernization. This role leads end-to-end development of data-driven products, including problem framing, data collection, preprocessing, modeling, and deployment into production architectures. The Lead Data Scientist will partner closely with engineering teams and technical leads to design predictive models, optimize intelligent automation, and develop analytics that improve performance, scalability, and business outcomes. Day-to-day activities include building and validating machine learning models, performing advanced statistical analyses, designing dashboards and visualizations, and translating complex data insights into clear recommendations for clients and stakeholders. The role also involves mentoring data professionals, defining best practices, and contributing to experimentation frameworks that support continuous improvement across projects.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Data Science and Data Analysis, with experience applying these skills to real-world business problems and production systems.

Proficiency in Statistics and Data Analytics for experimental design, hypothesis testing, model evaluation, and performance optimization.

Hands-on experience in Data Visualization, using modern tools and frameworks to build clear, actionable dashboards and reports.

Expertise in machine learning techniques, model deployment, and MLOps practices within cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

Advanced programming skills in languages commonly used for data science (such as Python or R), including experience with relevant libraries and frameworks.

Experience working with large, complex datasets, data pipelines, and modern data platforms (e.g., SQL/NoSQL databases, data warehouses, streaming data).

Proven ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering and product teams.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
