About the role

We are seeking highly motivated Embedded Real-Time Software Engineers to develop advanced mission-critical software solutions supporting next-generation defense systems. Candidates will design, develop, integrate, test, and sustain real-time embedded software for complex sensor, mission, and weapon systems operating in demanding environments.

The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in C/C++ development for embedded systems and experience supporting one or more of the following domains:

Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR)

Radar Systems

Electronic Warfare (EW)

Signal Processing

Sensor Fusion

Tactical Communications

Mission Systems

Candidates should have experience operating in Department of Defense (DoD) environments and be capable of contributing to Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) architectures and open standards initiatives.

Required Clearance

Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required at time of hire.

Ability to maintain clearance throughout employment.

U.S. Citizenship required.

Core Responsibilities (All Levels)

Design, develop, and maintain real-time embedded software applications using C and C++.

Develop software for Linux, RTOS, bare-metal, or embedded processing environments.

Participate in software architecture, design reviews, code reviews, and technical planning activities.

Implement multi-threaded and high-performance software solutions.

Integrate software with EO/IR sensors, radar systems, EW payloads, signal processing pipelines, or mission systems.

Support hardware/software integration, troubleshooting, and system testing activities.

Develop software in accordance with DoD and aerospace quality standards.

Analyze system performance, timing constraints, memory usage, and processing efficiency.

Collaborate across systems engineering, hardware engineering, integration, test, and program management organizations.

Support customer demonstrations, field testing, and operational deployments as required.

Contribute to MOSA-compliant architectures and open system interoperability initiatives.

Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.

6+ years of professional experience developing embedded software.

Master's degree may substitute for a portion of required experience.

Additional Responsibilities

Independently execute software development tasks throughout the full lifecycle.

Lead software design efforts for small projects or subsystems.

Mentor junior engineers on coding standards and development best practices.

Participate in customer interactions and technical reviews.

Support integration and test activities across multiple programs.

Qualifications

Strong proficiency in C/C++.

Experience developing software in embedded or real-time environments.

Familiarity with software architecture principles and design patterns.

Experience debugging complex hardware/software interactions.

Ability to work effectively in multidiscipline engineering teams.
