Job Overview
We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and test mission-critical flight computer software for next-generation Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite systems. You will work closely with hardware, systems, and integration teams to build low-level drivers, communications protocols, and flight software that ensure high reliability and autonomous satellite operations.
Key Responsibilities
Software Development: Design, write, and test low-level embedded software in C++ and Rust for satellite flight computers.
Hardware Integration: Interface directly with hardware electronics and microcontrollers using serial protocols, including I2C, SPI, CAN, and UART.
Driver & System Architecture: Write board support packages (BSPs), device drivers, and system applications for satellite subsystem navigation, power, and telemetry.
Testing & Bring-Up: Lead hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, board bring-up, and integration testing alongside hardware engineering teams.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of professional embedded software engineering experience in C, C++, or Rust.
2+ years of experience in embedded software design, hardware abstraction, and system architecture.
Strong hands-on experience debugging hardware interfaces using protocols such as I2C, SPI, CAN, or UART.
Export Control: Must be a U.S. citizen, national, legal permanent resident, or granted refugee/asylum status due to U.S. export control regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Experience in full lifecycle software development (unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and version control).
Prior experience in aerospace, avionics, satellite communications, or automotive embedded systems.
