Senior Software Engineer, Media Creation
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Media Creation to join the team of a leader in the Media space.
This role will focus on building and evolving backend systems that support media creation experiences at scale. You will partner closely with product, design, and engineering teams to shape product strategy and deliver fast, reliable, maintainable APIs. This is a hands-on engineering role with broad ownership across the development lifecycle, from design through launch, in a collaborative remote environment.
You will also help raise the bar for developer workflows, mentor junior engineers, and balance delivery speed with code quality as the team continues to improve the platform.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $190,000 – $267,000 annually
Responsibilities
Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to enhance product strategy
Own backend infrastructure for media creation, building fast, maintainable APIs
Contribute to all development cycles from design to launch
Engage with a motivated team of engineers to tackle challenges
Set standards for improving developer workflows and mentor junior engineers
Balance speed with quality in product development
Qualifications
BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
3+ years in large-scale distributed systems
5+ years of software development in languages like Go, Python, Ruby, Java, or C++
Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, and maintainable API design
Familiar with distributed caching and data storage systems like Redis
Strong organizational and communication skills, especially in remote settings
