Staff Software Engineer, Applied AI
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Applied AI to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.
This role will shape and deliver AI-powered capabilities that improve how healthcare organizations and their users interact with the platform. You will design production-grade LLM workflows, build full-stack experiences, and partner closely with product teams to bring reliable AI use cases to life. The position also calls for strong technical judgment around evaluation, observability, and deployment quality so the team can ship confidently. In addition, you will help guide architecture and technical direction as the organization expands its applied AI capabilities.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $200,000 – $260,000 annually
Responsibilities
Design and build LLM pipelines for product AI features
Develop full-stack features using Python and TypeScript/React
Prompt-engineer and iterate on LLM prompts
Strengthen evaluation frameworks for reliable deployments
Enhance production observability through accuracy signals
Contribute to architecture and technical direction
Partner with product teams to support AI use cases
Advise on the application of AI solutions
Qualifications
5+ years of software engineering experience
Experience in a startup or 0-to-1 environment
Strong full-stack web application experience in Python
Shipped agentic LLM workflows to production
Experience with LLM workflow evaluation
Familiarity with prompt engineering
Fluent with AI coding tools
Strong communication skills
