About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Technical Track to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space.

This role will guide the development of full-stack software systems that support research and safety-focused analytics in a highly specialized environment. You will help shape technical direction, define architecture, and ensure the software platform advances the organization’s research priorities and user needs. The position also calls for close collaboration with engineers and stakeholders to establish strong engineering standards, support AI-assisted development practices, and deliver reliable solutions at scale.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $131,186 – $180,381 annually

Responsibilities

Lead the development of full-stack software systems for research and safety analytics.

Implement service boundaries and integrate data models across platforms.

Set technical direction aligning architecture with research priorities.

Design complex systems in ambiguous environments to meet user needs.

Establish and maintain engineering standards and best practices for AI-assisted engineering.

Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of knowledge sharing.

Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent; Master’s preferred.

Minimum 8 years of experience in software development with a focus on platform security.

Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks, including React, Python, and PostgreSQL.

Experience deploying complex software products and understanding the software development life cycle.

Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects without formal authority.
