Staff Software Engineer, Data Warehouse Foundation
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Data Warehouse Foundation to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space.
This role will shape the architecture and evolution of a large-scale data warehouse foundation that supports analytics, engineering, and product decision-making across a high-growth consumer platform. You will lead complex technical initiatives that improve storage access patterns, scalability, and analytical velocity while partnering closely with cross-functional teams. The position also includes mentoring engineers and raising the bar for design quality, execution, and technical standards. In addition, you will help drive the adoption of AI-enabled tooling to improve data pipeline authoring and engineering productivity.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $177,185 – $364,795 annually
Responsibilities
Define and design the company's data warehouse architecture and storage access patterns
Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives in data warehouse and analytics domains
Mentor engineers and elevate technical standards through leadership on design and execution
Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to address user needs and align on objectives
Drive the vision and execution of scalable solutions for increasing data volume and analytical velocity
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
8+ years of relevant industry experience with large-scale data warehouses, data tools, and platforms
5+ years of building data warehouses and tools using technologies such as Spark, Trino, Flink, Airflow, Querybook, Superset, and DataHub
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners across multiple organizations
Hands-on experience with AI coding tools for building tools and data pipelines
Experience building AI tools and platforms to enhance data pipeline authoring and engineering productivity
