For our client, we are seeking a Senior AI / ML Engineer (LLMs) to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.
This role will focus on building and optimizing AI capabilities that support document understanding, summarization, and decision-making workflows. You will lead technical efforts from concept through production, partnering closely with data labelers, subject matter experts, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable solutions. The work will combine modern Python engineering, LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, and statistical modeling to improve model quality and business outcomes.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $200,000 – $235,000 annually
Responsibilities
Lead AI/ML projects from ideation to ongoing optimization.
Make high-level architectural decisions balancing system scalability and business impact.
Design and deploy AI features for medical document synthesis and summarization.
Develop hybrid machine learning solutions to enhance accuracy and scalability.
Write efficient, scalable code while optimizing existing systems in production.
Collaborate with data labelers and subject matter experts to improve AI model outputs.
Partner with cross-functional teams to define requirements and iterate on feedback.
Qualifications
5-8+ years of experience writing performant Python code following modern best practices.
Minimum 1 year of experience building and deploying products powered by large language models (LLMs) in fast-paced environments.
Proven experience leading technical projects from concept through production deployment.
Experience making architectural decisions for AI/ML systems with a focus on scalability and reliability.
Hands-on experience with hybrid approaches that combine LLMs, RAG, and statistical models.
Strong skills in evaluating and interpreting LLM outputs to align with business outcomes.
Expertise in prompt engineering for domain-specific applications.
