About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Investment Data Scientist to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will sit at the intersection of data science and investing, helping inform investment diligence and portfolio value creation through rigorous analysis and actionable insights. The individual will partner closely with investment professionals and portfolio company leaders to translate complex data into clear recommendations. The work will also involve building tools and data products that improve investment decision-making and support execution under tight deadlines.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $190,000 – $220,000 annually

Responsibilities

Dive deep into data analytics for investment due diligence, analyzing risks and opportunities thoroughly.

Partner strategically with portfolio company executives to drive data-led growth initiatives.

Lead the development and implementation of data-centric strategies and tools for investment processes.

Support live due diligence by translating complex data into clear analysis under tight deadlines.

Develop insightful tools and data products to enhance the investment process.

Oversee value creation projects in portfolio companies, managing from strategy to execution.

Engage in sophisticated data analysis, including feature engineering and hypothesis testing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; preferred concentration in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or other STEM fields.

At least 8 years of relevant technical experience in Data Science.

Previous experience with hedge funds is preferred.

Experience in financial services or private equity industries is preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective presentation and storytelling.
