For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Backend - Platform (Core AI Automation) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.
This role will focus on architecting and scaling backend systems that support AI-driven automation across compliance and operational workflows. You will lead technical direction for distributed AI automation capabilities, with an emphasis on reliability, reusable platform primitives, and strong engineering standards. The position will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to build foundational APIs, measurement frameworks, and orchestration layers that enable production-ready AI at scale.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $218,025 – $256,500 annually
Responsibilities
Architect and build agentic AI systems for compliance automation and operations
Design foundational APIs and measurement frameworks for AI agents
Lead technical direction for distributed AI automation systems
Develop reusable primitives and orchestration solutions for AI scalability
Mentor engineers on AI design, coding standards, and production readiness
Qualifications
8+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on distributed systems
Proven track record in production AI/ML application development
Proficient in working with LLM-based applications and ensuring reliability
Expertise in designing APIs and orchestration layers for AI systems
Strong understanding of evaluation frameworks for agentic AI at scale
