About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Software Engineer, Retail and CPG Platform Architecture to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space.

This role will shape the architecture of a scalable AI platform designed to support retail and consumer packaged goods use cases.

You will partner closely with technical teams to define the vision, guide hands-on development, and ensure the platform is built for production performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

The position offers the opportunity to influence technical strategy across supply chain, store operations, and e-commerce capabilities while advancing modern AI and agent-based solutions.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $240,000 – $379,500 annually

Responsibilities

Collaborate with technical teams to architect a scalable AI platform for retail and CPG use cases

Define the technical vision and platform architecture

Develop strategy focused on supply chain, store operations, and e-commerce functionality

Contribute hands-on development of systems and architecture

Create reusable architecture references to support broader industry adoption

Ensure the platform is production-ready with attention to latency and cost efficiency

Monitor system reliability and implement evaluation and fallback strategies

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience

15+ years of experience in technology, with a focus on AI and agentic solutions for retail

Proven ability to write code and implement systems; AI agent development is essential

Expertise in AI systems leveraging LLMs, RAG, and agent-based approaches

Strong grasp of data architecture, pipelines, and system design

Experience with distributed systems, APIs, and microservices frameworks

Demonstrated success in fast-paced, collaborative environments
