Staff Software Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.
This is a hands-on, staff-level engineering role focused on building and evolving software that supports important healthcare operations. You will partner closely with product and design to shape application behavior, influence technical direction, and help ensure the platform remains stable, performant, and aligned with business goals. The role also includes mentoring and technical leadership across the engineering team, with regular collaboration across functions in a remote-first environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $200,000 – $260,000 annually
Responsibilities
Develop applications using agile methodologies, TDD, and pair programming
Partner with product and design teams to shape application behavior and user experience
Lead technical decisions related to application architecture and data model design
Ensure application stability and performance throughout the development lifecycle
Deliver high-quality code aligned with business objectives
Participate in on-call rotations to resolve critical system issues
Use AI developer tools to improve development efficiency
Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years of production experience with Ruby on Rails or similar languages
Staff-level engineering experience with a strong focus on leadership and mentoring
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally across multiple teams
Must reside in the U.S.
