About the Role
A leading organization is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join a growing technology team supporting the development of modern digital investment solutions.
This role offers the opportunity to work in an agile, fast-paced environment while contributing to the design, development, testing, and implementation of scalable software applications.
The successful candidate will work with a modern technology stack that includes Java, Python, Go, APIs, OpenShift, cloud technologies, and automated testing frameworks, while collaborating with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, code, test, and implement software solutions under appropriate technical guidance.
Write clean, maintainable code to deliver new features and application improvements.
Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, testing, documentation, deployment, and maintenance.
Investigate and resolve technical issues, application defects, and production incidents.
Contribute to improving application stability, scalability, security, and performance.
Develop and maintain automated tests to improve software quality and reliability.
Create and maintain technical and application documentation.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices.
Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders to deliver technology solutions.
Follow established security, risk, compliance, and software development standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Software development experience using Java or Python.
Foundational understanding of software development concepts and programming principles.
Ability to clearly communicate technical challenges, solutions, and recommendations.
Basic understanding of cloud technologies and infrastructure.
Ability to work collaboratively within an agile development environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with application maintenance and software testing.
Practical experience working with one or more programming languages.
Understanding of Agile methodologies and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Experience developing applications with a focus on security, scalability, and performance.
Familiarity with build tools and frameworks such as Gradle or Maven.
Experience with Git-based version control systems.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and development frameworks.
Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
Familiarity with cloud platform infrastructure.
Experience working with APIs and modern application architectures.
