Position Summary
Base-2 Solutions is seeking a DevOps Software Engineer to join a high-energy team supporting the DIA-NMEC DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP). This role involves building and deploying a cutting-edge technology stack as part of a 10-year program modernizing the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P). The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver mission-critical capabilities.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and maintain a full-stack, containerized microservices architecture.
Support systems administration, installation, and configuration.
Promote adoption of DevOps best practices across cross-functional engineering teams.
Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big-data pipeline built on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation to accelerate development and improve reliability.
Design and support scalable, redundant infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.
Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new features and evolving requirements.
Partner with Systems Engineers to architect solutions for new capabilities.
Contribute technical input to engineering documentation, diagrams, and models.
Participate in Agile release planning, scrums, design sessions, bug triage, and related team activities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience; 6+ years with a Master's degree.
Strong Linux proficiency.
Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes.
Experience with CI/CD orchestration and GitLab.
Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
Demonstrated success working in cross-functional engineering environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating systems at scale.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
Development experience with Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java, etc.
Experience supporting enterprise or production systems.
Familiarity with Kafka or other messaging systems (AMQP, JMS).
Experience with Kubernetes monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
Experience with GPU-based Kubernetes.
Experience with SALT for deployment automation.
Experience with Helm / Helmfile.
Experience with Nexus.
Required Education and Experience Equivalency
Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience.
Master's degree with 6+ years of experience.
