Software Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Software Engineer to join a growing technology team within a stable and innovative organization. The Software Engineer will play a key role in developing automation solutions, supporting cloud-based environments, and enhancing critical applications while collaborating with cross-functional technical teams. This position requires onsite attendance in the RTP area once a week.
Responsibilities of the Software Engineer:
Develop and maintain Python applications, automation tools, APIs, and backend services that support business operations.
Manage and optimize cloud-hosted applications and infrastructure across production and development environments.
Build and support infrastructure automation initiatives, leveraging Ansible when applicable.
Investigate system, application, and deployment issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
Partner with engineering, DevOps, and business teams throughout the SDLC, including design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
Qualifications of the Software Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science required
3+ years of professional software engineering or application development experience.
Strong hands-on experience with Python, including scripting, automation, and object-oriented development.
Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and familiarity with Git and CI/CD practices.
Experience with Ansible preferred
Compensation for the Software Engineer includes:
Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 annually
